Gentila Abecasis Levy was born in Gibraltar.
She began her artistic expression as a self - taught sketch artist
and later on in life discovered her Love for oil paintings.
One can sense her Mediterranean origins by her use of vibrant colors in
her paintings.
Gentila moved to Montreal and enrolled at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for
The Arts.
There she studied with Juan Schneider, with a primary emphasis on sketching
life models.
She perfected her oil painting skills under the tutelage of the well known
painter Barbara Bensaya
From Venezuela. She also worked extensively with the celebrated French
painter Herve Teboul.
She exhibited at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts.
Gentila's paintings are in many private collections throughout Canada
and the U.S.
Some of her recent works can be seen at the Studio 19 Fine Art & International
Design Gallery in
Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
